Accommodation

Special rates have been negotiated at two local hotels.

The Jurys Inn is a large new hotel located in the city centre. geoEnv delegates have been offered rates of: Single room £89 per night, Double/twin room: £97 per night, including full buffet breakfast. Delegates can take advantage of these rates by quoting the reference GEO070908 when making the reservations (reservations must be made before 7th July 2008).

The Highfield House is a recently refurbished hotel within easy walking distance of the conference venue and has offered us a special rate of approximately £69 per room per night including full breakfast. When making reservations, delegates should simply state that they are attending geoEnv 2008 at the University of Southampton.

Please note that Southampton offers a wide range of hotels across the city catering to different budgets. Information on local hotels can be found here. Please note also that September is a very busy time of year in Southampton and, although there are many hotels to choose from, it is strongly recommended that you book your rooms as early as possible. Taxis from city centre hotels to the conference venue will cost around £5.

Bed and breakfast accommodation is available to postgraduate students in Halls of Residence on 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of September.  Please note that this is basic accommodation with shared bathrooms.  En-suite rooms are available at an additional cost.
